Automatic Grid Reinforcement (AGR)

During a grid study for a connection request, it frequently happens that lines or transformers are overloaded as a result of adding new grid participants. Also voltage limits can be exceeded. In this case, the grid integration of new generation plants or consumers requires grid upgrades.

As part of the new feature “Automated Grid Reinforcement”, the Intelligent Grid Platform (IGP) identifies suitable grid upgrades to eliminate bottlenecks within the existing grid automatically.

In this process, line or transformer reinforcements as well as new tap-changer settings are automatically suggested. This reduces the workload for grid planners, e.g. in finding the right line or transformer type, and accelerates all associated processes.

All new measures are evaluated directly with different simulations and can be reserved in the grid model if necessary.
