The Robotron platform acts as a data integration service for receiving, processing, and distributing measurement data – from controllable devices and power quality measurements in local grid stations to RLM measurements. These services can be operated in real-time within highly reliable environments.

By integrating real-time measurement data via Robotron’s standardized web service interface and combining it with the grid models of the IGP, distribution system operators (DSOs) gain full transparency into the current grid state. Based on this data, the IGP calculates the exact grid condition, detects bottlenecks in real-time, and enables direct measures for grid relief, such as control or switching actions.

The control commands generated by the IGP are received by Robotron services and securely transmitted via BDEW Web API with cryptographic security. This includes necessary certificate management and integration with a hardware security module (HSM). The service supports data modeling for various connected systems and devices. To ensure reliable, real-time grid operation and future auditability, Robotron also provides services for scalable storage, archiving, and provision of measurement values and switching actions.
